Bill, Creating an iTunes account isn’t the same as installing iTunes on a computer. You are required to have an iTunes account in order to install any apps on your iPad.
Although we don’t hate the iTunes application we dislike what it does to our computers and applications, we’ve had numerous issues with the application including Outlook hangs caused by an iTunes add in. Because these issues greatly affect computer performance and reliability we cannot support iTunes installations as our number one priority is to ensure that your computer is fully functional and doesn’t interfere with your work.

Charles, I thought we hated iTunes and didn’t want to have it on our computers. Are we going forward with the iPad/iTunes use in the classroom or not? Bill

Looking through National Gallery, saw this image of the Shaw memorial. Was reminded of poem by Mark Doty, “Demolition” – all about endings and beginnings; note Doty’s comments on the “angel” that hovers over the doomed soldiers. The movie GLORY is based on Shaw and his troops.
Using the pad like a student rather than like a teacher is very revealing to me – both in John Beall’s 10th grade English section and Lynn Hansel’s religion class.

Alex, just a quick note to see if you know how to email a sound file I recorded using the APP Susana mentioned for the IPAD. I just posted a query on the blog, but it’s labeled under Susana’s thread about paintbrush. Much thanks. Haven’t been on the blog in a while–good to see how much action I’ve missed.

Quicknote works great as a way of turning the IPAD into a recorder. Does anyone know how to email the sound files? When I tried, I received a “file too large” note. The recording is only 5 minutes long.
